Southern Africa Adventurer

This adventure begins in Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an area of natural beauty. Enjoy Africa's self-proclaimed adventure capital while staying at the magnificent new Palm River Hotel for two nights - a great location for exploring Victoria Falls town, its craft markets and local flavours. Enjoy a sunset cruise as you toast your first night in Africa! A myriad of additional activities can be added during your stay including a tour of the Falls, ziplining, white water rafting, a helicopter excursion or a trip to the Devil's Pool (water levels permitting). Pre-booking is recommended. Your journey continues as you travel to Botswana, beginning with 4 nights at Selinda Explorers Camp, located in the 330,000 acre Selinda Reserve of northern Botswana on the banks of the Selinda Spillway. This is prime predator habitat -- lion, leopard and cheetah and the Explorers Pack of African wild dog hunt these parts regularly. Good densities of giraffe, buffalo (in the dry season) and all the antelope – including even roan and sable and recently spotted eland – are possible sightings. From there continue to Duba Explorers Camp, situated on an island surrounded on all sides by the pristine Okavango Delta. During a stay at Duba Explorers Camp you step into the shoes of the early adventurers. Explore the water channels associated with the Ngoga River system by boat or traditional canoes (mekoro), meandering through channels created by hippos and elephant. Then it is onto Cape Town for a final 3 nights in Africa's southernmost city. Days will be spent exploring the city, including Table Mountain, Cape Point and the Cape Peninsula. The Victoria & Alfred Hotel is in a prime location on the waterfront and is a sophisticated retreat amid the buzz. Eastern Cape Explorer

This 13-day itinerary begins in scenically beautiful Cape Town, where you will find a compelling mix of trendy modern and old-world elegance. Begin your journey with four nights at the Kensington Place, located in the leafy Cape Town suburb of Higgovale. This contemporary private hotel combines cutting-edge design with a tranquil but prime location off trendy Kloof Street, below Table Mountain. Eight bespoke en-suite guest rooms and private outdoor terraces as well as a lush green Urban retreat with a plunge pool make it the perfect home away from home to begin your safari in South Africa. From Cape Town, your private guide will transfer you to Hermanus via Elgin and the Hemel end Aarde Wine Valley for a wine tasting and then you will spend two nights at One Marine Drive before continuing to the Garden Route. Not a garden in the true sense of the word, the Garden Route is more in the way of a "Garden of Eden," an area of natural wilderness with endless expanses of untamed primal forest and pristine beaches. Here, you will spend three nights at Kanonkop House, gloriously situated on the hills above Knysna. The family-owned Kanonkop offers boutique accommodation, excellent service and views over the Knysna Lagoon across to the famous Knysna Heads and the ocean beyond. Continuing by road, the Eastern Cape has its fair share of game reserves, private and national, and one of the main draws is that they are malaria free. The Mountain Zebra National Park, is home to the rare Cape Mountain Zebra, as well as buffalo, cheetah and the smaller predators - genets, bat-eared foxes, and jackals. Addo Elephant National Park, a Big 5 reserve is a haven for elephant and neigboring Camdeboo and Shamwari are highly regarded Eastern Cape reserves as well. Your last visit in South Africa is to the Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, located in South Africa’s beautiful Eastern Cape Province. The reserve comprises 22 000 hectares of African wilderness inhabited by a diverse array of wildlife including hippo, springbok, giraffe, cheetah as well as the famed Big Five. You can look forward to a wide selection of incredible activities including: scenic picnics, guided nature walks with experienced wildlife trackers, sundowners while floating on one of the reserve dams, as well as big game walking safaris and even rhino darting.

Leisurely Tanzania

Your itinerary begins on arrival in Arusha, where you will enjoy an evening at the Arusha Coffee Lodge, an excellent spot for relaxing and adjusting to African time.  Then your Tanzanian safari begins in earnest,  with 4 nights in the Northern Serengeti, at Serengeti Bushtops, where you may have the opportunity to witness  the world's greatest wildlife phenomenon, the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra, as well as enjoying the area's outstanding resident game.   For an extra thrill, take a hot air balloon excursion for a bird's eye view across the landscape (at an additional cost which must be pre-booked) After a flight from the Serengeti to Manyara airstrip, and continue on to Entamanu, also an excellent location from which to visit the crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site.  The caldera formed by this extinct volcano is home to rich landscapes and the largest population of permanent wildlife anywhere in Africa; you'll enjoy a picnic lunch during your visit.   In addition to a day in the crater, guests can enjoy a rim walk or Maasai cultural visit. Finally, you will journey to Chem Chem Lodge, in the heart of Tarangire for a 3 night stay, enjoying game viewing in Tarangire National Park and on the private concession.

Southern Tanzania

Enjoy an itinerary that encompasses some of the country's most remote wildlife destinations and the opportunity to enjoy a quieter, more traditional safari experience in a more untamed Africa. This 11 night itinerary begins in the country's vibrant capital on the shores of the Indian Ocean. From there continue to Ruaha, Tanzania’s largest national park. This vast landscape, about the size of New Jersey, is home to ten percent of Africa’s lions and the region's highest population of elephants, in a landscape dotted with baobabs, palm trees and kopjes. Enjoy sightings of some of the most striking antelope - greater kudu with their vast spiralling horns, or perhaps roan and sable. Wild dog and leopard are also regularly spotted. The next stop is Katavi, home to large animal herds, including Cape buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, and elephant. The dry season and the resulting mudholes make for an entertaining sight, as they can be packed with hundreds of hippos. The itinerary ends in the Selous Game Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Africa’s largest game reserve - roughly three times the size of the Serengeti. Its lush landscapes are dominated by the river and a chain of lakes that make for excellent wildlife watching. As a reserve rather than a national park, it allows walking safaris, boat trips and fly-camping as well.

Exclusive South Africa

This exclusive South African itinerary combines the best of the Western Cape with a four night safari experience in the Greater Kruger area.  The itinerary begins with three nights at Ellerman House. This exclusive property offers spectacular views over the ocean.  Art lovers will appreciate the private gallery on the grounds featuring a selection of African artists.  It will be a delightful oasis after busy days of exploring the City and Cape Point Peninsula, including highlights such as Table Mountain, City Center, Cape of Good Hope, and Boulders Beach. Then it is off to the Cape Winelands, arguably one of the most beautiful wine regions of the world.  This area is also a hub for artisan foods.  You'll enjoy two nights in Franschhoek at Leeu Estate.  Its location offers stunning views of the valley, with access to the shops, art galleries and incredible restaurants of the village. Best of Zambia

This 11 day, 10 night itinerary in Zambia combines some of our favorite lodges in the Lower Zambezi, South Luangwa and Victoria Falls. Your safari begins in the Lower Zambezi National Park which features exceptional, undeveloped wildlife areas, renowned for its abundant game and variety of wildlife including hippos, buffalo, crocodiles, fish eagles and herds of elephants. Take advantage of the opportunity to participate in a walking safari. Walking was pioneered in Zambia and remains one of the few areas where this can be truly enjoyed. You continue your safari with a short flight to South Luangwa and a game drive transfer to the lovely Puku Ridge Camp. South Luangwa is abundant with elephants, giraffes, leopards, lions, wild dogs, buffalos, zebras and various antelope species – many of which will be easily spotted as you lounge on your balcony or eat dinner. Your safari is topped off with a visit to the majestic Victoria Falls (Livingstone) where you are treated to the impeccable service and style of Tongabezi Camp. One of the original natural wonders of the world, the World Heritage Site is known locally as ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. This spectacle is accessible from both Zambia and Zimbabwe and is an ideal place to combine game viewing and water sports.

East Africa Explorer

Your East Africa Explorer begins in Kenya's capital, Nairobi, where you can adjust to Africa time, with a night at Hemingways. Enjoy a dawa on the terrace as the sun sets over the Ngong Hills, made famous by Isak Dinesen’s “Out of Africa”. Fly north to the Lewa Conservancy for 3 nights at Kifaru House, where you'll enjoy some wildlife unique to this stunning region, including the reticulated giraffe and Grevy's zebra, as well as being home to some endangered species, both black and white rhino. Then it's on to the iconic Maasai Mara, at Sand River Mara Camp, located close to the Tanzanian border – this is a lovely camp, in a superb location with excellent wildlife viewing. You'll spend 3 nights enjoying game drives and if the migration should have arrived in the Mara, perhaps a chance to witness a river crossing. In addition to the superb resident game viewing, you will have a further opportunity of witnessing the world's greatest wildlife phenomenon, the annual migration of wildebeest and zebra, as you cross the border into Tanzania for 3 nights in the world famous Serengeti, at Serengeti Pioneer Camp (Migration Camp is seasonally substituted). Your adventure concludes with a final two nights at the Manor at Ngorongoro, an ideal location from which to visit the Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The caldera formed by this extinct volcano is home to rich landscapes and the largest population of permanent wildlife anywhere in Africa. You'll enjoy a picnic lunch during your full day excursion into the Crater itself. Then relax at The Manor or participate in the other activities at the lodge.

Seychelles La Reserve
