From there you'll journey by air to the dramatic NamibRand Reserve and its mix of dunes, mountains, rocky outcrops, sandy flats, and gravel plains. It is one of the least light-polluted areas in the world. You'll enjoy nature drives, walking, quad biking as well as a visit to the vast dunes and Dead Vlei in Sossusvlei. The next two nights are spent in Swakopmund, at the Strand Hotel for 2 nights. This seaside resort town, is a quirky mix of German and Namibian influences, and a great base for your Living Desert tour, learning about how nature has adapted to these arid conditions. From Swakopmund, you'll fly to Twyfelfontein for 3 nights at Onduli Ridge, set amongst the dramatic rock outcrops of the region. The name ‘Twyfelfontein’ translates to ‘Fountain of Doubt’, which refers to the perennial spring situated in the impressive Huab Valley flanked by the slopes of a sandstone table mountain. Activities here include the rock art ‘petroglyphs’ at the Twyfelfontein UNESCO World Heritage sites, game drives in search of the desert adapted elephant and guided walks. Your final 3 nights are spent on safari, on the edge of Etosha National Park, at Ongava Tented Camp, located in the private Ongava reserve, where you'll enjoy twice daily game drives and walking in this wildlife rich area.
