Our photo competition theme for 2026 is Safari Comedy – submit the photos that made you smile, giggle or laugh out loud during your trip(s) with us. Whether it’s a perfectly timed look, a windswept mane, or a wildlife nap taken very seriously, these categories celebrate the character, charm, and personality of Africa’s animals.

Here are some category ideas that will hopefully inspire you. Captions also welcome!

Safari Side-Eye
A perfectly timed glance that captures Africa’s wildlife at its most expressive — curious, unimpressed, or quietly judging.

Bush Hair, Don’t Care
Wind-blown, dust-dappled, and effortlessly wild — celebrating the natural style of life on safari.

Nap Hard, Play Hard
From midday snoozes to improbable sleeping poses, these moments prove the bush has mastered the art of rest.

Some Rules ….

Please label each photo using the following format: FullName_Category_Location
(e.g., SusanJones_Bush hair_Serengeti).

• Submit up to 4 photos per traveller.
• Open to anyone who has traveled on safari with African Portfolio (even if it was years ago).
• Images must have been taken during your African Portfolio adventure.
• Entries must be received by October 31, 2026.
• The prizes are as follows:
  • Overall winner: $1,000
  • 2 Runners-up: $500 each
