Comment: All personal representatives were great. Tour guides in Kenya and Migration Camp were outstanding.
What additional information (if any) would you have liked to receive prior to your departure from home? We found that we should have brought more cash for tipping at all the various activities to avoid banks, ATMs, etc.
How would you describe your accommodation, facilities and meals? Please provide the name of the hotel, lodge or camp you are describing. All facilities and meals were top rate. Can’t say enough good about the Elewana properties. The Crater Lodge was also a terrific upgrade. Meals were outstanding at every property. Our last evening dinner in Zanzibar the butler actually went out and handpicked our dinners after talking to us about our favorite meals. The breakfast surprise on game drive in Kenya was one of our fond memories.
What and where was your favorite meal of the trip? Breakfast on game drive in Amboseli.
How would you evaluate your safari guides and staff? Please provide the name of the person you are describing. Great knowledge of animals and customized tours after figuring out our priorities. Boni in Kenya was totally outstanding. We had a more brief time with David – he was a bit more focused on talking to other drivers trying to find us the nest experience. Hilary was similarly outstanding. As far as personal representatives, Eunice was top rate – last person we saw at night and always waiting for us in the morning. Took care of every need. Yakim at Crater was totally focused on making the visit remarkable. Rasheed at Migration was really interested in how he could make our visit the best. And Dowdi at Kilindi anticipated our every need and was over the top in making our visit a great way to finish trip.
Was there anything you would have liked more of, less of, or done differently? Zanzibar was definitely a place to wind down – a totally different experience in terms of things to do. The concept of a few days to unwind was really important. Arrival in Kenya was great. The land transfer into Tanzania and Zanzibar were a bit more complex – we were a bit left on our own.
What was your most memorable moment in Africa? Breakfast in the bush in Amboseli was a great surprise.
If you could give future travelers one word of advice, what would it be? You have to be prepared that travel to Africa and all the prep is more of a commitment, but well worth it if you are open to new experiences!
