Resting at the foot of Mount Meru, the sprawling city of Arusha is known as the safari capital of northern Tanzania. It serves as an excellent base from which to explore the remarkably scenic surrounding area which includes majestic Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as the Manyara, Tarangire and Ngorongoro National Parks. Arusha is a good spot to take a day or two off from the safari circuit as it features a temperate climate and lush surrounds.

Arusha Coffee Lodge offers a truly distinctive experience with the opportunity to stay on a working coffee plantation. The lodge is built around the original plantation houses from the early 1900s, and charming shades of that bygone era remain. Here, you’ll not only enjoy the amenities you’d expect from a luxury lodge, you’ll also get to breathe in the scent of freshly roasted beans and get try some of the many tasty blends. Tarangire Treetops

On the path of an annual elephant migration, Elewana Tarangire Treetops sits alone in a 312km2 community wildlife area bordering Tarangire National Park, amid a landscape of rolling and baobab-studded hills. The elevated “treehouse” suites are perched high up with views over the adjacent baobab and marula trees, giving Tarangire Treetops an adventurous and exotic feel.
Twenty suites, each 65 sq metres with a private balcony, are lavishly furnished. Natural materials are blended with contemporary Africana décor, to provide guests with a unique and most memorable safari experience.
TheTarangire Conservation Area is home to species such as buffalo, lion, cheetah, leopard and elephant. Expect an inviting blend of Old World European sophistication and warm East African hospitality at this elegant escape adjacent to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ensconced in a grove of trees and verdant gardens in a 1,500 acre coffee estate,
are 18 cottage suites, each with its own private entrance and adjoining private sun terrace. In-room amenities include an en-suite bathroom with a rain shower, wi-fi and tea and coffee making facilities. Being so close to the Ngorongoro Crater, the wildlife-rich “Eighth Wonder of the World, you’ll no doubt want to head out on safari; yet when you return there is just as much to keep you entertained at the Manor. You can enjoy playing tennis on the grounds, or perhaps set off on an exhilarating mountain biking or horseback excursion around the estate. Afterward, indulge in a massage and toast the setting sun at the bar or on the outdoor deck. For those wishing to bring the whole family, the two bedroom family cottage is the perfect spot. Internationally renowned for the greatest wildlife spectacle on the planet, The Serengeti National Park located in north-west Tanzania is the ultimate ‘wildlife show’ on earth. Across the globe authors and filmmakers have come to document the annual migration of hundreds of thousands of animals, but there is still only one way to understand and experience the true magnificence of this natural phenomena and that is to be part of it. Serengeti Migration Camp is the embodiment of the ‘camp’ experience. Located next to the famous Grumeti River which is home to resident hippos that bark and wallow their days away, Serengeti Migration Camp has become synonymous with low-impact high-action game viewing in a landscape that is untouched since the dawn of time. Hidden among the rocky outcrops the camp is located at the starting point of the Migration. Comprising of 20 luxurious elevated tents, each with spacious and richly furnished bedrooms, blends seamlessly into the environment.
