Explore three different and distinct regions of Botswana on this fly-in safari offering excellent value for money. You start your tour with an opportunity to view the majestic Victoria Falls. You continue by road to Chobe National Park, renowned for its impressive, shifting migratory population of more than 50 000 elephants. Chobe is situated in the far northeast of Botswana, bordered to the north by the mighty Chobe River. Explore this area on game drives, morning walks and night drives. Your next safari experience is in the massive Khwai Private Reserve comprised of some of the most fantastically diverse habitats in northern Botswana, including riverine woodlands, floodplains, open savannah, mopane woodland, rivers and lagoons. Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, bush walks and elephant viewing from an underground bunker. You conclude your safari in a private concession adjacent to Makgadikgadi Pans National Park. The area is renowned for its massive herds of wildebeest and zebra which migrate to the park en masse followed by a variety of predators including lion, cheetah and hyena. Popular activities include game drives, bird watching, exploring the salt pans and fascinating bush walks to historic sites guided by experienced Bushmen trackers.

Situated on the western edge of Chobe National park, Muchenje offers unique, prolific game experiences within this quieter region of the Chobe National Park. Muchenje is a 5 minutes drive from the Ngoma Gate of the Chobe National Park. Game Drives use this gate to enter and explore the Western side of the Chobe River. The drives explore the river road and woodland areas that are adjacent to the river, which host a myriad of species. The Chobe flood plains provide an important food source for thousands of animals during the winter (June – November) and witnessing this prolific wildlife is a safari goers dream!
Along with the immense diversity of species of plains game, is an impressive number of predators that also rely on this prolific game activity. Game Drives along the Chobe are rarely uneventful, and during our winter months is a wildlife extravaganza!

Hyena Pan Tented Camp

Hyena Pan is situated in a 200 000 hectare private conservancy, Khwai Private Reserve. It falls within the Okavango Delta World Heritage Site, and borders Moremi Game Reserve, the Khwai River and Chobe National Park.Overlooking the Hyena Pan, is in a forest of Cathedral Mopane just 12km north of the Khwai River, the theatre of animals passing through will amaze and delight you, all visible from a choice of viewpoints in camp. With one of the few permanent water holes in this area thanks to solar powered boreholes, and also its location as an elephant route between Savuti in the Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta, you see movement of elephant through the area constantly.
The new underground hide offers a spectacular new vantage point. Situated around Elephant’s Pool, about 20 minutes from camp, you have the chance to watch elephants, zebra, giraffe, wild dog and other wildlife as they come to cool off and rehydrate. This is a once in a lifetime experience and a photographers dream.The camp is rustic yet comfortable, its charming simplicity making it the perfect getaway into the wilderness.

Meno a Kwena Tented Camp

Itinerary Details

Meno a Kwena is an understated rustic lodge perched on a clifftop overlooking the Boteti River and offering a diverse range of activities. The Lodge exudes old world, classic safari style. Each of the 10 tents has an enviable view of the Boteti River allowing guests to watch Southern Africa’s largest zebra and wildebeest migration concentrates at the river during the dry season. Meals are cooked over the camp fire and down time spent in the pool or loungers.
Guests can immerse themselves in the silence and solitude of the Makgadigadi salt pans with our sleep out (dry season only), watch the bustle of river-seeking herds from land or water, or oversee phenomenal wildlife sightings within the Park. The iconic local bushmen tribe bestow their knowledge of flora and fauna in a fascinating cultural exchange during walks from camp. With its easy access from Maun, this is a perfect camp for those on a self-drive itinerary, travelling with children or as part of a group.
