|How would you rate your trip overall?||Excellent|
|Comment:||It was a trip of a lifetime. We were never alone in Susan’s hands. She ensured that this trip was everything that we ever wanted and more.|
|What was the most important reason for choosing AFRICAN PORTFOLIO?||Expertise
|Comment:||It was very important to us to be able to trust the individual planning our trip. Africa is such a vast continent and Susan was able to decipher what we wanted to do and put plan out the most perfect trip.|
|How many safari companies did you consider before selecting AFRICAN PORTFOLIO?||One or Two|
|Comment:||The representatives were fantastic. Although the representatives in Vic Falls were not as clear and concise as they were in the other destinations. We were picked up from the airport and dropped off at the hotel without any support or explanation around our activities planned.|
|What additional information (if any) would you have liked to receive prior to your departure from home?||Susan was fantastic. She fully prepared us for our trip and even the weather.|
|How would you describe your accommodation, facilities and meals? Please provide the name of the hotel, lodge or camp you are describing.||Bwindi – was incredible. More than we anticipated. Ann was such a gem and she was so helpful with our lost luggage. They made sure we were able to enjoy ourselves despite not having our luggage.
Lewa Safari Camp – what a beautiful lodge. We really enjoyed the tent and food options.
Ngare Serian – this was the highlight for us. It exceeded our expectations being so close to the river. We loved how intimate the camp was and really enjoyed having meals with our camp mates and sharing our day’s experience.
More Quarters – what a great way to reacclimate to city life. More Quarter and Derrick was amazing!
Overall, BJ and I were disappointed that their wasn’t much local food options. The food and quality of food everywhere we went was great, but we wanted to try local food options.
|What and where was your favorite meal of the trip?||We ate at Shortmarket Club and Cod Father in Cape Town and absolutely loved it.
The luwuondo at Bwindi was really delicious as well.
|How would you evaluate your safari guides and staff? Please provide the name of the person you are describing.||We feel so fortunate to have been able to spend so much time with both our guides (Daniel at Lewa and James at Ngare). Both were so knowledgeable, funny and thoughtful.|
|Was there anything you would have liked more of, less of, or done differently?||We both talked about how early we arrived at the airport. At Vic Falls we arrived at 7 and the airport wasn’t even open yet. I would be more liberal with the amount of time allocated towards transport to the airport. Also, I wish we were consulted on some of the flight times, we would’ve liked to sleep in on occasion.|
|What was your most memorable moment in Africa?||Gorillas trekking was awe inspiring. We just couldn’t stop smiling thinking about the experience. Absolutely appreciate taking Susan’s advice to do two days. It was amazing.|
|If you could give future travelers one word of advice, what would it be?||Go with an open mind and little expectations. Mother nature will give you the most wonderful gifts, if you allow her to.
We saw the big five on our first safari, while we met so many people disappointed because they didn’t see certain animals they anticipated seeing.
