What additional information (if any) would you have liked to receive prior to your departure from home?
The distance between cities. More options, i.e. Information about Atlas Mountains and excursions from Marrakech.
How would you describe your accommodation, facilities and meals? Please provide the name of the hotel, lodge or camp you are describing.
Riad Fez was fabulous. We had one dinner there which was excellent as were the breakfasts.
Riad Kniza the same with even more personal touches. Really lovely hotels.
What and where was your favorite meal of the trip?
El Fenn and also a restaurant which name I cannot remember but was run by all women; chefs, servers, et al. Excellent. Both were in Marrakech.
How would you evaluate your safari guides and staff? Please provide the name of the person you are describing.
Ahmed , our driver was first class. The guides, with one exception in Meknes, were excellent. I can’t remember all the guides names but Mohamed in Marrakech was very good and the guide in Fez was also good.
Was there anything you would have like more of, less of, or done differently?
Way too many souks! All the guides pushed the souks – we are not great shoppers! We really wanted a trip to the Atlas Mountains and a saffron growing farm but the guide was very reluctant to deviate from the schedule. Eventually, Ahmed, the driver, took us up to the mountains on our last day prior to our evening flight. It was wonderful!
What was your most memorable moment in Africa?
Probably the last day in the mountains and the saffron growing farm when we scarcely had enough time to enjoy it!
If you could give future travelers one word of advice, what would it be?
