How would you rate your trip overall? Excellent Comment: Once in a lifetime experience. What was the most important reason for choosing AFRICAN PORTFOLIO? Other Please Specify Trip organized by Kathy Lorentzen, a long-time friend How many safari companies did you consider before selecting AFRICAN PORTFOLIO? None     What additional information (if any) would you have liked to receive prior to your departure from home? I felt that I was fully informed about the trip, what to expect, what I needed to bring, etc. How would you describe your accommodation, facilities and meals? Please provide the name of the hotel, lodge or camp you are describing. This was probably the area where I had the least understanding of what to expect.  Each of the camps provided a well-appointed and comfortable room/tent with a comfortable bed and excellent facilities.  The only question was how far the walk was to the main building.  Every camp provided good quality, well-prepared meals that were in almost all instances quite good. What and where was your favorite meal of the trip? Tough call.  Over two weeks the meals tend to blend together.  I remember some good Nile Perch somewhere.  Wish I could be more help. How would you evaluate your safari guides and staff? Please provide the name of the person you are describing. The safari guides were outstanding.  I felt that we always were in the best position to view the animals, and that our guides provided extraordinary levels of education and information. Was there anything you would have liked more of, less of, or done differently? I would have preferred a day or two with a bit more downtime.  8-10 hours in a safari truck on those roads is wearing.  It would have been nice to go back to the camp at 1:00 or 2:00 and then gone back out at 4:00 for a couple of hours. What was your most memorable moment in Africa? Probably the two lionesses with 8 cubs walking along the edge of the marsh.  Also the hippo chasing the lion. If you could give future travelers one word of advice, what would it be? Trust your guides to provide an incredible experience.  And grit your teeth for the bumpy roads.
