Dawn and Tony D.
Yvette, I wanted to drop you a note about our trip before things got too crazy for me. First off, this was by far the best vacation I have ever had. I am already thinking about my next trip to Africa! We thoroughly enjoyed the trip from start to finish. The sequence of the activity was just right and the pace was spot on. I am so glad we started in Cape Town and ended with the Safari – I could not see doing it any other way. All connections/transfers worked well and we were able to upgrade to business class on the return using Step Up. That was a god send! We enjoyed Cape Town tremendously – even hiked up to the top of Lion’s Head, a little hairy at the top but so worth it for the views. Garth Angus was simply the best! We appreciated the depth and breadth of his knowledge, he gave us quite a history lesson, which we loved. Would have loved to have spent more time with him. The places recommended for dinner were great but Kloof Street House was our favorite. We enjoyed Stellenbosch – Hanley was an excellent guide – Waterford Estate was a joy. As for the Safari , I loved loved Tanda Tula. So glad you had us experience both – tent and lodge. Tanda Tula won me over because of its size, the passion of the staff at every level, the attention to detail and the game viewing – much better there. Also being in the tent made you feel like you are part of the surroundings. The morning wake up with the birds was really special. Tony liked the accommodations at Simbambili more but agreed the game viewing was better at TT. I think the difference was the ranger who was much more passionate and informative than the one at Simbambili. All in all this was a very successful trip. Thanks Yvette for all the work you did in making this trip so special.
