How would you rate your trip overall?    Excellent  Comment:       It was truly the trip of a lifetime!

What was the most important reason for choosing AFRICAN PORTFOLIO? Referral

How many safari companies did you consider before selecting AFRICAN PORTFOLIO? None

How would you rate AFRICAN PORTFOLIO’S representatives in Africa?    Botswana – Excellent , South Africa – Excellent, Tanzania – Excellent, Kenya – Excellent

What additional information (if any) would you have liked to receive prior to your departure from home? It would have helped to better understand the distances and track conditions in Tanzania. Bumping and crashing through ruts and over boulders for full days proved physically trying on occasion.

How would you describe your accommodation, facilities and meals? Please provide the name of the hotel, lodge or camp you are describing. They were all excellent and none need to be singled out.

What and where was your favorite meal of the trip? In general the food was delicious and very well presented

How would you evaluate your safari guides and staff? Please provide the name of the person you are describing. They were quite variable. Most were excellent and we bonded more with some than others which is to be expected. One or two at Bushtops Serengeti were rather silent which made the trips less interesting.  Having a private guide in Tanzania was absolutely brilliant and made the experience even more special. It was wonderful advice to do that.

Was there anything you would have like more of, less of, or done differently?  We would have happily added a day at The Manor at Ngorongoro to enjoy the lovely surroundings, excellent amenities and to simply decompress.

What was your most memorable moment in Africa? Apart from all the animals which were absolutely amazing and shouldn’t be distinguished among, the bush braii at Machaba was absolutely incredible – especially as we had heard about them at other camps but didn’t expect to be at one. The hot embers under the seats were a treat for all.

If you could give future travelers one word of advice, what would it be?  Depending on their age (we’re older but very fit) we would advise about the rough tracks/long distances in Tanzania. We loved being there but would have liked to break up the trip a bit with a day off. We would also emphasize the darkness/cold and usefulness of a flashlight, headlamp, long silk underwear, long socks and neck gator.
