How would you rate your trip overall? Excellent
Comment: The trip was truly amazing! The open-sided vehicles in Kenya make game viewing breath taking and the knowledge of the guides, as a result of their bronze, silver, and gold rankings, is incredible. Kenya is heaven on earth!

How many safari companies did you consider before selecting AFRICAN PORTFOLIO? None

How would you rate AFRICAN PORTFOLIO’S representatives in Africa? Kenya Excellent

What additional information (if any) would you have liked to receive prior to your departure from home? None

What additional information (if any) would you have liked to receive from our representatives in Africa while on safari? None

How would you describe your accommodation, facilities and meals?
Excellent! All meals were delicious, although I could do without so much Italian style cooking in Africa! Staff was even better than in Tanzania but I have an issue with the management at Elsa’s which I will discuss with Anouk next week,

What and where was your favorite meal of the trip?
My favorite meals were the traditional Kenyan meals at each lodge. I was very lucky at Lewa because I met the cook at our first lunch there and told her how much I loved ugali, sukuma, and all local foods. She made a special meal for meal each night!

How would you evaluate your safari guides and staff?
All three of our guides were excellent and they explained habits, characteristics of the animals. Ernest in Nairobi was great. Mohamed (Lewa and Meru) and Sammy (Mara) were both better than great. Since we were with Mohamed for 8 days we became very attached and it was very sad to leave him. Both were totally amazing at finding the animals, birds

Was there anything you would have like more of, less of, or done differently?
In retrospect, I wish we had stayed 5 days at Lewa and 5 in the Mara. But there is always a next time!

What was your most memorable moment in Africa?
I don’t really have a most memorable moment because the whole experience is so memorable and is a combination of the people, culture, and animals. The game drives are amazing as are the bush lunches where we are able to talk to the guides about their lives and culture. Sundowners and sunrises take my breath away!

If you could give future travelers one word of advice, what would it be?
One word is just not possible! Take in the beauty of this wonderful country and enjoy every single minute you are there!
