Ongava Game Lodge is situated in the Ongava Game Reserve, a private 30 000 hectare game reserve located adjacent to the southern boundary of Etosha National Park. Ongava Lodge is cleverly constructed on the slopes of a small hill where guests can sit back and watch a host of wildlife species that come to drink at the waterhole just below – or sit quietly at the hide to see these close up. The premier camp Little Ongava is built along the crest of a hill with wonderful views onto the plains below and is the ideal lodge from which to base your activities when visiting Etosha. Accommodation comprises thirteen chalets and one family room, attractively built out of brick, rock and thatch, have en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning and glass-fronted doors leading onto a private veranda. There are impressive views of the waterhole and surrounding plains from the main lounge, bar and dining areas. Meals are either served under thatch or on the dining deck under the stars. Activities include game drives in open 4×4 vehicles into the Okaukuejo area of Etosha where Lion, Elephant, Cheetah, Gemsbok, Springbok and Hartebeest can be seen at many of the waterholes in the park. In addition, night drives, hides and walks with armed guides are enjoyed on the private reserve. Ongava has resident White and Black Rhino, giving guests staying at Ongava the unique opportunity to see both of these charismatic species. Offered seasonally and subject to an available walking guide, nature walks through the area take in the abundant array of life, small and large.
