Phinda Mountain Lodge is located in the award winning Phinda Private Game Reserve, 22 000 hectares of pristine wilderness, situated in the lush Maputaland region of northern KwaZulu-Natal. This Big Five reserve encompasses 7 distinct habitats, including the rare dry sand forest, which is a preferred habitat of the leopard. The bar, lounge and three levels of open deck area, are raised spaces with a wide stairway leading to the boma and the secluded pool. Along the side of the reception quad, is the dining room with top to bottom windows, emphasizing the beautiful views of the majestic Lebombo Mountains, which shelter the shy black rhino. A total of 25 suites are positioned to ensure complete privacy while optimizing the view from the veranda. A private outdoor shower and plunge pool for each suite allow you to savor the outdoors and the fresh mountain air. Lounging in your private plunge pool overlooking the dense green slopes, you can lose all track of time as easily as though you were floating on a cloud high up above the world. The suites are scattered along brick paved pathways beneath a canopy of trees where Nyala and Impala often graze and relax. The twin or king bedrooms have spacious dressing rooms, hair dryers and phones and the en-suite bathrooms are huge, with double vanities, large walk-in showers and bath tubs placed at the sliding doors, opening to the outside shower. The sitting areas have minibars and lead out to viewing desks with private plunge pools.
