Al Moudira

Al Moudira was designed by Egyptian architects and constructed using local materials and traditional architecture that incorporates actual pieces saved from old Egyptian buildings. The décor is a collection of Egyptian artifacts from souks, antique shops, bazaars, galleries and handicrafts by local artisans. Handmade tiles, wrought iron, wooden lattice work, columns and arches contribute to the exotic Arabic impression and climbing vines of roses and bougainvillea add a beautiful striking contrast to the terracotta-colored architecture. The 54 gigantic bedrooms, decorated with antique furniture and artifacts, are grouped into units of four that open onto private courtyards, fountains and shaded lounging areas. All rooms have a tiled bathrooms with tubs, some even sunken like Turkish bath. Meals are served outdoors or in, and a small and intimate bar serves relief from the dessert heat. Al Moudira also has the only swimming pool on Luxor’s West bank.
