We’re home and getting re-adjusted to our usual routines. It sure is weird being back.
The trip was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. Both safari lodges were terrific; they really couldn’t do enough for us, and we truly appreciated the extras (massages, champagne, private dinner, etc.) The drives were amazing; the guides and trackers sure do everything they can to find the best sitings. We saw all the big 5 plus several leopards with cubs, hyena cubs, wild dogs (which I understand is rare) and even a jackal.
Everything went about as smoothly as it could considering how many transfers/flights were involved. All our flights left and arrived on time; all our guides met us and were professional; we particularly liked Adrien from African Safari Adventures who took us on the panoramic tour and transferred us between lodges and to the airport. The only minor glitch is that I didn’t get the Kava Visa and had to get another one to enter Zambia; I was just worn out from the trip and got on the wrong line in the airport.
If you want to discuss our trip in more detail Paul and I would be happy to chat with you. I will cull down our photos and send you a link; feel free to use any for your purposes. I will also post some on your blog and FB page.
Thanks for helping us create the trip of a lifetime. I think we’ll have to go back to Africa when we can manage it.
